EDO FEST

EDO FEST

Edo Festival of Arts & Culture, titled EDOFEST, is an annual event organized and celebrated in the State of Edo, Nigeria.

The carnival-themed event is literally a means of ‘Bringing Arts and Culture Home’. As an introduction of EDOFEST in 2017, a quote  by the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, stated that, “The arts of Benin Kingdom are global brands. Being the bastion and citadel of culture in the country, Benin artifacts are among the most exquisite and coveted in world’s history which represents the earliest civilization among blacks, especially Africans.”

The week long celebration showcases rich cultural heritage(s), arts and traditions that have been in existence since as far back as the 13th Century and is also a means of reliving their history. It is proudly celebrated by Edo people, Nigerians, West Africa and beyond.
